About Me

My photo
I married my best friend two years ago and we are expecting our first little one in June. Riley is still pursuing his mechanical engineering degree and I'm working at a gym teaching fitness classes. We are so blessed and love all the insane things life has to bring.

I love to see....

The Temple.

While camping around the 24th of July this year, my Grandma told us she wanted us all to get together and go to the temple.  That caught us a little off guard considering she hadn't been to the temple over 30 years and none of us knew she even wanted to go back.  Still a little confused but VERY happy for her we set a date when we all could go with her.  It was a special experience and I'm glad I got to share it with her and the rest of my family.

Traditions

It's that time again; time for the Sacco family annual Uinta trip!  Every year since before I was even born my dad's side of the family has been spending Labor Day weekend in the High Uintas.  It's a trip we all look forward to every year.

Paul hung his hammock high up in the trees, it was fun to watch people try to get in and even more fun to watch them fall out.
For the kid's treasure hunt they got these cute umbrellas (among other things) that clamp onto chairs and stuff, well they went straight to the other hammocks, asked me to clamp them on and they just sat there and relaxed.  Pretty smart kids.

I was so proud, usually I repel the fish but my curse must be lifting because I caught 2!
Riley also caught his first fish, I was taking my niece to the bathroom so I missed the blessed event but I heard the screaming from clear across the lake.

Birthday On The Water

A quick shout out to my sister Jackie.. HAPPY BIRTHDAY! It was on the 31st and by her request the whole family got together and spent a day on the water. I won't say how old she is, but it rhymes with dirty tree..

Jack, I just want you to know that we all love you, you are a huge part of our family (thats not a fat joke). You help keep us all together and are always thinking of others. You're not afraid to laugh, or joke around even at your own expense; and last but not least you made 4 beautiful, crazy kids, who are loved by everyone.
We Love You

Remember the Mustang?

Remember the Mustang?
Well, it's all finished and looks a-mazing! Like I said in the ealier post, it had been sitting for over 10 years, at first glance it didn't look like that big of a project, but underneath the paint was a whole new story. After practically losing my husband to the shop for about a month, the big reveal was on Father's Day and the smile on my dad's face was all worth it.

Kyle, Mat, my Dad and Me helped with what we could...
It was fun working on something together.

Every panel and door was ripped off, stripped down and repaired.
Then on to the paint.

Once it was painted and put back together it was time for...

THE REVEAL

We had everyone waiting in the front yard, Riley and I drove up the street blasting my Dad's favorite song through the new stereo system we also put in for him.
Did we make a scene? Yeah probably, but what are families for?

It was pretty priceless to watch him tell "his babe" to get in the front seat and drive away playing Beach Boys.  I think at that moment he was back in 1969, I'm sure he'll come back soon....maybe.

This couldn't have been made possible without Riley, thank you babe for taking all that time and effort to make my dad so happy! I Love You.

6 Months Married!

.

We have been married for 6 months now, and life hasn't stopped or slowed down one bit... in fact its sped up it seems like.  But we've had a ton of fun on the way, and I wouldn't trade any of it!

I do have to say July is my favorite month. I don't think we've had a weekend where we've been home between Lake Powell, camping, family reunions and more camping :-) You don't see me complaining.
Riley is a little exhausted; he started at a company called US Synthetic about 2 months ago, they make diamond coated drill bits for mining or something. Anyway, its an engineering company (which he's going to school to be an engineer) so we thought it would be a good idea for him to get his foot in the door with a good company.  As it turns out they started him working graveyards on Saturday nights.... and 3-11:30 on weekdays. Not fun but he's working hard and has to stick it out for about another month, then it will really start to pay off.

Anyway summer is in full swing and here's just a snippet of some of the things we've done!

I'm a sucker when it comes to my nieces and nephew, so when they asked to spend the night multiple times I couldn't say no... and I think their mom gave them up a little to easily.  Brock loves Riley's parents house so we took them up there to play, well Riley ended up teaching Brock how to drive a backhoe.

Mustang Sally

For years my dad has been talking about restoring his '67 Mustang, knowing my dad talk is all it was, so it sat for a looong time waiting to be loved.  Now finally the process has begun, so you all get to come along for the journey.

It's not in bad shape for a restoration project. Some new parts, rust repair, and a shiny new paint job its going to look awesome.  My dad gets so excited when he talks about it you can't help but be excited with him.

Bad at Blogging?

I haven't posted anything in a while.. I guess nothing that interesting has happened, or I'm just bad at blogging? But maybe it's time for an update.

*We had a fun Easter/Conference down in St. George with the Hiatt side of the family.  It was so fun to watch the little kids go crazy over the egg hunt, naturally grandma made one of the prizes a toy that played an annoying song that we all got to listen to all day long (until we stole the batteries).

        * We got called to teach the 12-13 year old sunday school class. The first couple weeks were a challenge, we forgot how roudy and innattentive they can be (I want to say I never was like that..buuut probably not true) everything is good now and its actually really fun :-)

       * Mothers day was amazing, I'm especially thankful for my mom she's amazing and still does so much for me every day, as I get older I realize more and more how hard she works.  I just hope I wasn't as big of a pain in the butt as my little brother is.  I'm also lucky to have an awesome mother in law; from day one she's been nothing but great.

* Riley and his brother have found a new love in buying boats, fixing them up and selling them, and let me say they do amazing work.  They have only done one so far, but number two is on its way, its an '02 Centurion and it was in Vallejo, California so guess what we got to do last weekend?  Thats right Riley and I left around 10 pm Wed night and hit the road, Riley was pretty excited to go because he served his mission in Roseville so he was happy to go back.  We made it to Wendover before we got tired and decided to get a cheap hotel for the night.  And cheap it was $25 bucks a night for a luxurious stay at the Red Garter Hotel ha ha.  I took in my own blanket and pillow, but hey it was a warm room for the few hours we needed it.  Thursday we visited Riley's mission area and visited a few people, I decided I want to move there it was sooo pretty.  Thursday we headed to Vallejo picked up the boat and drove 12 hours straight home.  Not what you would call a vacation but it was still fun to be together.

~Spring Fever~

Spring fever has hit....hard.  Just when the weather gets nice, and I'm ready for summer... it snows again.  The joys of Utah weather.

A few years ago my dad brought me back a hammock from Guatemala but I've never had the chance to put it up.
When Riley and I moved into our house there just happened to be two trees the perfect distance apart to hang my hammock! So on the first nice day there was thats what I did ;-) My nieces and nephew Kaycee, Brock and Hailey came over and tested it out for me.  We were a little worried that the ropes holding it would break (since I've already fallen out of it once). But luckly it didn't and they had a lot of fun, and so did I.  I love playing with those kids!

Every year around this time my sister Shellie, my Dad and I head down to the AZ to catch a little baseball.. scratch that, A LOT of baseball. 3 days, 5 games --> 85 degree weather = Heaven!                     For two months out of the year a bunch of major league teams head to Phoenix to practice up for the season to come, and look at new prospects so what better way to see all your favorite teams, big names and escape the cold?  We also get to see my sister Jen who lives down there while her husband goes to medical school. So its a win, win, win situation. (ok the driving 10 hours each way isn't that great but well worth it)

Averi during the National Anthem
She waited for months for us to come, she was so excited and came to every game with us.
for being 3 years old she did so good.  Looks like we did our job she's a baseball-lover.
